Principal Search Finalists

We hope many parents can attend the parent meetings with our two Principal finalists — Jacob Bultema and Stephanie Juriansz. Here are a few important details:

  • The meetings will both take place in The Centre — Jacob’s on Monday, February 13 and Stephanie’s on Tuesday, February 14.
  • The all parent meeting will run from 8:35am-9:05am.
  • Candidates will speak briefly and then have time for questions.
  • Gil Lawrence from the NPS HR team will ask for your written feedback after each session so plan to stay for a few extra minutes and bring a pen or pencil to complete the form that he will provide as you enter.
PLEASE NOTE:  Due to the condensed timeframe and hard stop at 9:05am, the Principal finalists will not be able to answer all parent questions during the all parent session. However, candidates will also meet with two smaller groups of parents. If you have a question that you want to make sure is asked during one of the parent sessions, please email Will Adams at masonricepto@gmail.com as he is coordinating the small group questions.

Important Dates & Events 
  • The next School Committee Meeting, scheduled for Monday, 2/13 at 7pm at the Ed Center (100 Walnut Street), will discuss changing School Start times. If you have thoughts, concerns or opinions regarding start times, and in particular changing them at the high school level, write to the School Committee ASAP at schoolcommittee@newton.k12.ma.us. Information on the School Start Time project is here:
  • Our February PTO Board Meeting is Thursday, February 16 at 8:30am in the After School Room. All are welcome.
  • Fools’ Folly Planning meeting is rescheduled for Thursday, February 16 at 7:30pm at Sarah Housman’s home (64 Homer Street).  Beer, wine and light fare provided to help aid in the creative process!  Can’t attend but want to participate or be involved in the show?  Please contact Erica Thorp.
  • CRADLES TO CRAYONS: Our shift to volunteer at the factory will be on Saturday, February 25, 10am-12pm. Any questions, please email: pinarkk@hotmail.com.
